Black Friday 2026 for Christmas shoppers (UK): which gifts are worth the wait, and which to just buy now
A UK guide to using Black Friday (27 November 2026) and Cyber Monday (30 November) for Christmas presents – the gifts that tend to be worth waiting for, the ones to buy now, and how to tell a real deal from a relabelled price.

Black Friday is on Friday 27 November 2026 and Cyber Monday on Monday 30 November, which leaves almost exactly four weeks until Christmas Day (a Friday this year). That makes it genuinely useful for Christmas shopping – but only for some presents. For the rest, waiting just means a smaller choice, a later delivery and a few pence saved on something that was already cheap.
So this guide sorts gifts into two piles: worth waiting for and just buy it now. We don't predict prices, we don't show prices, and we don't promise any discount – nobody outside Amazon knows what will be reduced, by how much, or for how long. What we can do is explain which kinds of gift tend to move and which don't, and how to check a "deal" in thirty seconds.
Last checked: 3 November 2026. Every product below was live on Amazon UK on that date, rated at least 4.2 stars from at least 100 ratings. Amazon hadn't announced its UK Black Friday Week dates for 2026 when we checked; in 2025 it ran from 20 November to 1 December (Amazon UK press release, November 2025). We'll update this page when the 2026 dates are confirmed.
The short version
- Worth waiting for: bigger-ticket gifts from big brands – e-readers, smart speakers, air fryers, noise-cancelling headphones, shavers and fitness watches. If you'd pay full price happily, buy now; if the budget's tight, put it on a list and wait.
- Just buy it now: advent calendars (they're needed by 1 December), stocking fillers, chocolates, books, cosy basics and anything personalised or handmade. The saving on a £5 item is never worth the stress.
- Before you buy any "deal": check the price history, compare the exact model number, and read the delivery date for your postcode.

How we chose these gifts
We haven't hands-on tested these products, and we never invent reviews. We picked items from our Christmas guides and Gift Finder that are from well-known brands, widely stocked on Amazon UK, and rated 4.2 stars or more from at least 100 ratings when we checked on 3 November 2026. The "wait or buy" calls are our reasoning about how each type of gift tends to be priced – not a forecast for any individual product.
Worth waiting for
These are the gifts where a Black Friday reduction, if there is one, makes a real difference to the total – and where Amazon's own devices and the big appliance and grooming brands have tended to feature in its Black Friday events in recent years. Amazon's 2025 announcement, for example, named Ninja, Philips, PlayStation, ghd and Oral-B among the featured brands.
The rule of thumb: if you'd be happy paying today's price, buy it now and stop thinking about it. If the budget only works with a discount, add it to your basket's "Saved for later" list and check again during Black Friday Week.

The classic Black Friday wait
Amazon Kindle Paperwhite (2024 model)
- 7" glare-free screen
- Waterproof
- Amazon's own device
Amazon's own devices are the most predictable Black Friday regulars, so a Kindle is the gift we'd most happily wait for. It's also a present that suits almost any adult reader – from a commuter to a grandparent who wants bigger text. Check whether the listing includes adverts ("with ads") before you buy; that's a common difference between two otherwise identical-looking prices.

Echo Dot smart speaker
- Compact smart speaker
- Alexa
- Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
Another Amazon device, and a very easy gift for someone who wants radio in the kitchen, timers and reminders. If you're buying several (one for each grandparent, say), Black Friday is the time to do it – any saving multiplies.

Ninja Foodi FlexDrawer dual-zone air fryer
- Dual-zone drawer
- 7-in-1 functions
- Ninja
Air fryers are the definitive "big Christmas present for the house", and Ninja is one of the brands most associated with Black Friday promotions. Measure the worktop first – the dual-zone models are large – and make sure the recipient actually wants one; nobody needs a second air fryer.

Bose QuietComfort wireless noise-cancelling headphones
- Over-ear
- Noise cancelling
- Bose
Premium headphones are exactly the kind of gift where a reduction is worth having, and the specification doesn't change between November and December. Be careful to compare the exact model name: headphone ranges have several similar-sounding generations, and an older model at a "deal" price isn't always the bargain it looks.

Philips OneBlade 360 trimmer and shaver
- Trim, edge and shave
- Rechargeable
- Philips
A practical grooming upgrade from a brand that regularly appears in seasonal sales. Check whether the bundle includes spare blades and which attachments come in the box – those differences are often why two "OneBlade" prices look so far apart.

Garmin Forerunner 55 GPS running watch
- GPS
- Running and fitness tracking
- Garmin
A sensible first GPS watch for a runner, and the sort of gift where a few weeks' patience can pay. Fitness wearables often get replaced by newer versions, so if you see a big drop, check that you're not buying an old model just before a successor arrives.
Just buy it now
Some gifts simply aren't worth gambling on. Either they're needed before Black Friday is over, they're already cheap, they sell out, or the choice gets worse the longer you wait.

Needed by 1 December
Twinings Tea Advent Calendar 2026
- 24 days
- 24 individually wrapped teas
- Twinings
Advent calendars are the clearest "buy now" of the year: Black Friday Week usually runs to around 1 December, which is the day you need to be opening door one. A tea calendar is a lovely alternative to chocolate for an adult who already has everything.

Pooch & Mutt Christmas advent calendar for dogs
- 24 meaty treats
- For dogs
- Seasonal stock
The same logic, with more tail-wagging. Seasonal pet products tend to sell through rather than get cheaper, and this one is no use at all after 1 December. Check the ingredients against any allergies.

Lindt Lindor Milk Chocolate Truffles, 200g box
- 200g
- Approx. 16 truffles
- Gift box
Chocolate is already one of the cheapest presents on the list, so any Black Friday saving is pennies. Buy it now, hide it well, and check the best-before date if you're stocking up early.

Monopoly Deal card game
- Quick card game
- 2–5 players
- Ages 8+
Small games like this are stocking-filler priced all year. Popular family games can go out of stock in December, which is a far bigger risk than missing a small discount.

The Impossible Fortune – Richard Osman
- Thursday Murder Club series
- Richard Osman
- Big Christmas title
Big new novels from best-selling authors are often already sold below the cover price in the run-up to Christmas, so there's little to gain by holding on. Books are also the gift most likely to be bought twice by two relatives – buying early lets you co-ordinate.

samply 2L hot water bottle with knitted cover
- 2 litres
- Knitted cover
- Cheap-to-run cosy gift
Cosy basics are cheap, useful and needed from the first cold snap – which, in Britain, arrives well before Black Friday. Buy it now and the recipient gets a month more use from it.
How to tell a real deal from a relabelled price
UK consumer group Which? has repeatedly found that many Black Friday "deals" were the same price, or cheaper, at other times of year. A few habits protect you:
- Check the price history. Free tools such as Keepa and CamelCamelCamel show an Amazon UK product's price over time. If today's "deal" price was the normal price in September, it isn't a deal.
- Compare the exact model number, not the product name. Older generations, different bundles and different colours can all carry different prices.
- Ignore the "was" price and look at the saving in pounds. Ask yourself whether you'd buy it at that price if there were no countdown timer.
- Read the delivery date for your postcode and who it's sold and dispatched by. A marketplace seller shipping from abroad can take weeks – see our last-minute delivery guide.
- Check the returns window. Amazon UK usually extends returns for items bought in the run-up to Christmas, but the exact dates and exceptions are on its returns pages – read them rather than assuming.
- Set a list and a budget first. Black Friday works best for things you'd already decided to buy. If it wasn't on the list on Monday, it probably doesn't need to be in the basket on Friday.
Key dates
- Black Friday: Friday 27 November 2026
- Cyber Monday: Monday 30 November 2026
- Advent calendars needed by: Tuesday 1 December 2026
- Last full weekend before Christmas: 19–20 December 2026
- Christmas Day: Friday 25 December 2026
The bottom line
Use Black Friday for the two or three expensive presents on your list – the Kindle, the air fryer, the good headphones – and only once you've checked the price history. Buy everything else now: the advent calendars, the stocking fillers, the chocolates and the books. You'll spend about the same, and you won't be refreshing a deals page at midnight.
