As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Links marked Ad are affiliate links: if you buy through them we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. How this works.

Affiliate disclosure

How The Gifting Year earns money from affiliate links, how they are labelled, and how this affects (and doesn't affect) our guides.

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

What that means

Many product links on The Gifting Year are affiliate links to Amazon.co.uk. If you click one and buy something, Amazon pays us a small commission. The price you pay is exactly the same as if you had gone to Amazon directly.

How we label affiliate content

We follow the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and CMA guidance that marketing must be obviously identifiable:

  • Every guide that contains affiliate links carries a disclosure line at the top of the page, before any product is mentioned.
  • Every affiliate button or link is labelled Ad or Ad · affiliate link right next to it.
  • Affiliate links are marked in the page code with rel="sponsored nofollow".

What commissions don't affect

  • Selection. Products are shortlisted on published specifications and suitability, not commission rates. Many items we mention earn little or nothing.
  • Honesty. We don't test products hands-on and we never claim to. We don't publish invented ratings, review counts or quotes.
  • Prices. We don't show prices because they change constantly. Always check the current price, the seller and delivery date on Amazon before buying.

We have no relationship with any brand mentioned, and this site is not endorsed by Amazon.
